Biography
Ari Dwi Hartanto is a lecturer at the Department Mathematics, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. At the department, he belongs to Computational Mathematics Research Group, and because the (minor) part of his research relates to algebra, he also belongs to Algebra Research Group.
He received his bachelor’s degree (S.Si.) and his master’s degree (M.Sc.) from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Currently, he is taking a PhD at Kanazawa University, Japan.
Research interests
Ari’s research fields are Computer Algebra (algorithms, applications, and implementations) and Numerical Computation. He studies and develops the theory of Gröbner bases for commutative and non-commutative rings (e.g., ring of differential operators) and signature-based algorithm for Gröbner bases computation. It is applicable for solving many fundamental problems in mathematics and sciences algorithmically such as in optimization problems and statistics. He uses Risa/Asir computer algebra system, SageMath, and Python for the implementations.
Before he studies for PhD, his research interests were Cryptography and Coding Theory.
