The Computer Laboratories of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UGM, include three dedicated physical laboratories, designed to support a wide range of computational and statistical experiments integral to our curriculum.
Laboratories 1 and 2 each are equipped with 33 PCs, while Laboratory 3 features 21 PCs. All computers run on either Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating systems, ensuring a reliable and modern environment for all users. These laboratories are frequently utilized by students from the Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science programs for various practical sessions. The practical experiments conducted include data exploration and visualization, applied regression analysis, Statistical Computing II, introduction to data mining, categorical data analysis, forecasting methods, survival data analysis, applied analysis of variance, statistical quality control, computational mathematics, optimization theory, and an introduction to time series regression.
Additionally, our laboratories are equipped with a range of both licensed and open-source software to cater to diverse academic needs. Licensed software includes Microsoft Excel 2019-2021, SPSS 19, Matlab 2014, Eviews 7, Maple 11, and Minitab 14.1. For those interested in open-source alternatives, our labs also offer Maxima, Scilab, R Software, Table Manager, WinQSB, Isetl, and Anaconda3.
Our state-of-the-art computer laboratories are not just physical spaces—they are gateways to knowledge and innovation in mathematical sciences. Whether you are analyzing complex data sets or developing new statistical models, our labs provide the tools necessary to achieve excellence in research and education.
