Yogyakarta, July 27, 2023 – The 9th SEAMS UGM 2023 organizes an excursion as part of its event lineup. Participants in this excursion include invited speakers and several conference participants. The excursion took place from 12 noon to 9 in the evening, taking the participants on a journey to explore the enchanting beauty of Borobudur Temple and witness the wonder of the Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple.
The excursion kicked off with the participants gathering to begin their adventure at Borobudur Temple. For three hours, they wandered through each corridor and terrace of this magnificent temple. The intricate carvings and reliefs on the temple walls captivated the attention of the participants, who didn’t forget to capture the moment with photographs.
After a satisfying exploration of Borobudur Temple, the journey continued to Prambanan Resto for dinner. The dining experience was accompanied by delectable Indonesian cuisine and a view of Prambanan Temple, creating moments of togetherness and joy among the participants.
Following dinner, the participants assembled at the theater to witness the Ramayana Ballet. This epic dance performance depicted the tale of Rama’s heroic quest to rescue Goddess Sita from the clutches of the giant king, Rahwana. The moral messages and profound meanings of the story were beautifully conveyed through each dance movement, leaving a deep impression on the audience’s hearts.
The excursion provided the participants with a profound cultural experience, allowing them to delve into Indonesia’s rich history. In addition to being a platform for the exchange of mathematical ideas, The 9th SEAMS UGM 2023 also offered a valuable opportunity to introduce Indonesian culture to the international community.
