The Graduation and Farewell of Mathematics Department Graduates at UGM Period I Academic Year 2023/2024

Yogyakarta (11/22/2023) – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) enlivened its campus with a graduation ceremony for undergraduate students. The event took place lively and full of happiness at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM. The event continued with the Release of UGM Undergraduate Graduates Period I Academic Year 2023/2024, at the 7th Floor Auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UGM.

A total of 41 students from the Mathematics Department earned their bachelor’s degrees at this graduation ceremony. These graduates consist of 27 students from the Mathematics Bachelor’s Degree Program, 11 students from the Statistics Bachelor’s Degree Program, and 3 students from the Actuarial Science Bachelor’s Degree Program. The presence of family, friends, and academic advisors provided additional encouragement to the graduates who have completed their academic journey.
The highest Grade Point Average (GPA) for graduates of the S1 Mathematics Study Program was achieved by Akbar Adi Nugraha with a GPA of 3.81, the best graduate of the Statistics Study Program was achieved by Maria Lidya Natalia Maharani with a GPA of 3.88 and the best graduate of the Actuarial Science Study Program this period was achieved by Fitriana Murtafiah who achieved a GPA of 3.77.

In his address, the Vice Dean for Research and Community Service of FMIPA UGM, Dr. rer. nat. Wiwit Suryanto, S.Si., M.Si., expressed his pride and appreciation for the achievements of the graduates. “Today is a very special moment not only for the graduates but also for their families and the entire academic community of UGM. Your journey is still long, and we advise you to continue it with full enthusiasm. We also emphasize that we are all global citizens, allowing for opportunities to serve not only in our beloved country but also in other countries,” said Dr. rer. nat. Wiwit Suryanto, S.Si., M.Si.

This graduation ceremony is not just a formality for handing over diplomas; it is also a farewell and congratulations to the graduates. They are encouraged to apply the knowledge they have gained to face challenges in the real world.
