UGM Mathematics Department Student Achieves Spectacular Victory at UCMAS International Competition 2023

Yogyakarta – A proud achievement came from one of the best students of the Department of Mathematics Actuarial Science Study Program (2020), Andi Fathurrozi Ramadhani, who won an extraordinary victory at the UCMAS (Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System) International Competition 2023. The competition was organized by the UCMAS Academy of Abacus & Mental-Arithmetic Sdn Bhd and attended by 8,000 participants, consisting of UCMAS students from 86 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa.

The UCMAS International Competition, held this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is an abacus-based intelligence development program, which highlights proficiency and genius in various aspects of mathematics. Participants are tested in various categories, including mathematical problem solving, concept understanding, and creative problem solving.

For the past four months, Rama and his team have been intensively preparing for the UCMAS International Competition 2023. In the competition, Andi Fathurrozi Ramadhani or often called Rama, won several achievements. Among them are silver medal for flash category, first runner up for visual category, and bronze medal for UCMAS World Cup 2023 as Indonesian Team.

Rama has become an inspiration for all students in the Department of Mathematics. His victory reflects his high dedication and hard work in facing the UCMAS International Competition 2023. The Department of Mathematics is proud of the achievements of its students who have achieved international recognition. Hopefully this achievement will continue to inspire the younger generation to achieve even higher in the future.

“For friends who wish to participate in similar competitions, practice diligently, study hard, never be satisfied with what has been achieved because everything needs a process; nothing is instant,” he concluded.
