Yogyakarta, July 24, 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a graduation ceremony for postgraduate students on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. This event marked the graduation of three students from the Doctoral Program in Mathematics and eight students from the Master’s Program in Mathematics.
The Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., delivered an inspiring speech to the graduates. He emphasized that this graduation is a very important moment worthy of celebration, but graduates should remain vigilant and not be carried away by the temporary euphoria.
“This graduation is a moment to celebrate, but don’t get carried away. Keep your spirits up, keep innovating, and maintain productivity in your work,” said Prof. Kuwat.
One of the graduates from the Master’s Program in Mathematics, Naelufa Syifna Wifaqotul Muna, S.Si., M.Sc., who achieved the highest GPA of 3.98, also delivered a speech sharing her experiences during her studies. In her speech, Naelufa expressed her gratitude and thanked her family, lecturers, and friends.
“Don’t forget to thank yourself for persevering and striving to complete your final project as a student,” said Naelufa with great enthusiasm.
The graduation ceremony proceeded solemnly and joyfully. The graduates, along with their families and friends, celebrated their success after a long and challenging academic journey.
This graduation ceremony is also in line with several relevant points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 4 (Quality Education) which promotes high-quality higher education, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) which highlights the importance of innovation in developing educational infrastructure.
Congratulations to the postgraduate graduates of the Department of Mathematics FMIPA UGM. May the knowledge you have acquired be beneficial to society, bring honor to our beloved alma mater, and become your dedication to the nation.
