In the prestigious Doctor Data 2024 event organized by Diponegoro University, Rahma Nur Annisa (Statistics 2022) and Daffa Elgo Santosa (Statistics 2022) successfully brought honor to Gadjah Mada University by winning 2nd place in the National Statistics Olympiad competition. This success further affirms the capacity of UGM students to compete on the national stage.
With the grand theme “Dive into the Future by Leveraging Data Insights to Vitalize the Evolution for Indonesia Emas 2045,” this event invites participants to showcase their data analysis skills in supporting the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. This competition is one of the most anticipated events by statistics students across Indonesia.
The Statistics Olympiad Competition is held in several stages, starting from registration to the final round:
- Stage I (Preliminary): August 18, 2024
- Announcement of Stage I Qualifiers: August 25, 2024
- Stage II (Semifinal): September 1, 2024
- Announcement of Stage II Qualifiers: September 8, 2024
- Stage III (Final): September 28, 2024
Rahma and Daffa have gone through all these stages with enthusiasm and hard work. After overcoming various challenges in the preliminary and semi final stages, they successfully reached the Final Round, which will be held on September 28, 2024.
In the final round, Rahma and Daffa must present their data analysis results on a topic that is highly relevant to Indonesia’s development towards 2045. The announcement of the winners was made on the same day, and this pair of students was declared the 2nd place winners.
This achievement not only makes UGM proud but also serves as an inspiration for other students to continue honing their skills in data analysis and statistics. This victory also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting better innovation and infrastructure for the future (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) as well as sustainable clean energy. (SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy).
With this achievement, Rahma Nur Annisa and Daffa Elgo Santosa have proven that UGM students are ready to contribute to realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 with the power of data and analysis they possess.
