At the Jogja Innovator Summit 2024, part of the MIPA Expo 2024 held on Friday, October 18, 2024, Andrias Ekoyuono, Chief of AI and Corporate Strategy at Kumparan, shared insights on how simple ideas can be transformed into sustainable and scalable businesses. With the theme “Turning Ideas into Scalable Business,” Andrias emphasized that facing challenges is an essential part of any business journey. Without obstacles, rapid growth is difficult to achieve.
In his presentation, Andrias highlighted the importance of understanding resource constraints, market dynamics, and using initial failures as learning tools. He encouraged participants to view failure as an opportunity to bounce back even stronger. This aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), which promotes entrepreneurship and job creation through innovation and technology.
In the fast-moving digital content industry, Andrias explained the significant challenges faced by new companies. Nevertheless, he offered optimism to students pursuing postgraduate degrees, particularly in mathematics. According to him, the skills gained during their studies are highly relevant to the needs of the industry. Mathematics, often considered abstract, plays a crucial role in the application of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and provides innovative business solutions.
This closely relates to SDG 4 (Quality Education), which underscores the importance of access to high-quality education to address future industrial challenges. “For those studying mathematics, don’t worry—your skills are in high demand to meet the challenges of the industry,” he concluded.
