Department of Mathematics Booth Crowded Until the Last Day of MIPA Expo 2024

Yogyakarta, October 19, 2024 – MIPA Expo 2024 officially closed today, but the enthusiasm of visitors at the Department of Mathematics FMIPA UGM booth remained high until the very last minute. Students from various schools invited by FMIPA UGM filled the booth, adding to the lively atmosphere of the annual event’s closing.

Since the morning, the Department of Mathematics booth was crowded with visitors. Some were eager to try the interactive mathematics games that had been displayed throughout the expo. These games not only provided entertainment but also offered new insights into mathematics in a fun and engaging way.

Additionally, many students took the opportunity to borrow UGM’s alma mater jacket for photos. This activity became a favorite, especially for those aspiring to continue their education at the university. Taking a photo wearing the UGM jacket was seen as a way of manifesting their dreams of one day becoming part of the prestigious blue campus.

The Department of Mathematics booth also offered various attractive merchandise, ranging from stickers to mathematics-themed accessories. Many visitors were keen to take home souvenirs as mementos of MIPA Expo 2024.

The excitement at the Department of Mathematics booth over the past four days of the expo proved that interest in the field of mathematics is growing, especially among high school students. Through interactive activities and appealing promotions, the Department of Mathematics successfully captured the attention of many and conveyed the message that mathematics is accessible and enjoyable for all.

In addition to being a scientific exhibition, MIPA Expo 2024 aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. This event supports inclusive and equitable access to quality education by providing an engaging educational platform for students. It reflects the Department of Mathematics FMIPA UGM’s commitment to promoting knowledge and enhancing mathematics literacy in society, in line with the goal of ensuring everyone has access to relevant learning and skills that support sustainable development.
