Yogyakarta, October 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM) held the graduation ceremony for postgraduate students of the first period of the Academic Year 2024/2025 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The event was attended by the Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., who delivered an inspiring speech encouraging graduates to remain productive after completing their studies.
In his speech, Prof. Kuwat emphasized the importance of maintaining a spirit of productivity, stating, “Do not stop creating after graduation; continue to actively develop your knowledge and contribute to society.” This message also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which promotes lifelong learning, and SDG 9, which focuses on science-based innovation and infrastructure.
In this period, the Department of Mathematics graduated 3 doctoral students and 13 master’s students. Among them, 4 graduates from the Master of Mathematics program achieved cum laude honors, bringing pride to the department.
Additionally, remarks were given by the Head of the Master’s Program in Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, SU., who inspired the graduates, saying, “Graduation marks the beginning of brighter days ahead. The achievements you have gained should continue to be developed. Engaging and collaborating with fellow academics, both within your field and across disciplines, will motivate us to keep creating and expanding knowledge.”
This graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone for the graduates as they continue their academic and career journeys and contribute to achieving global development goals.
