Yogyakarta, November 22, 2024 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has taken a strategic step to address the growing number of data breaches in Indonesia. Through the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), UGM launched a Cybersecurity Awareness training program for lecturers, educational staff, and administrative personnel. This program was organized in collaboration with PT Analis Forensik Digital and PT Analis Keamanan Siber, two companies with extensive experience in cybersecurity.
The program, attended by 335 participants, aims to improve understanding and skills in safeguarding data within the campus environment. The launch event was held at the FMIPA Auditorium and opened by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si. On this occasion, a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was also signed between UGM and the two partner companies.
Prof. Kuwat emphasized that as a higher education institution, UGM is not only responsible for producing high-quality graduates but also for becoming a strong fortress of data security. Meanwhile, Josua Sinambela, CEO and Co-Founder of PT Analis Forensik Digital and PT Analis Keamanan Siber, underlined the importance of cross-sector collaboration in creating a better data security ecosystem, both for the campus and the wider community.
The training was conducted in a hybrid format, combining on-site sessions at the FMIPA Auditorium with online sessions via Zoom to reach more participants. This program is expected to serve as a model for other educational institutions in Indonesia by involving educators as the front line in raising awareness of the importance of data security.
Through this collaboration, UGM is committed to being a pioneer in data security in the education sector and contributing significantly to building a stronger cybersecurity ecosystem in Indonesia.
