Yogyakarta, December 20, 2024 – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Unit of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM) held its routine members’ meeting on Friday morning. The event, which took place at FMIPA UGM, was attended by DWP members from various departments within the faculty, offering an agenda filled with camaraderie and health-related insights. This time, the Mathematics Department served as the event host, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
The event began at 9:00 AM with a registration session, followed by an official opening and the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” which was then followed by the Dharma Wanita March. Speeches were delivered by the Chair of the Mathematics Department’s Ikatan Ibu-Ibu (Mothers’ Association) and the Chair of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of FMIPA UGM, providing motivation and messages of unity to all attendees.
The highlight of the event was a health talk session titled “Understanding Lower Back Pain.” Mrs. Ani Nurkinasih, AmdFis, an experienced physiotherapist, presented material about lower back pain, a common issue for many people. The session included explanations of the causes of pain, demonstrations of stretching exercises, and an interactive Q&A session, which captivated the participants.
After the health session, participants were pleasantly surprised by the distribution of door prizes. A special performance by the Math Voice group enlivened the event with their captivating show. Before the closing session, additional door prizes were distributed to further enhance the festive atmosphere.
The event concluded at 11:20 AM with a message encouraging attendees to maintain their health and foster strong bonds among members. Through this activity, it is hoped that the spirit of togetherness and awareness of the importance of health will continue to grow among DWP FMIPA UGM members.
