UGM Officially Launches IUP for Mathematics and Statistics Programs in 2025

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is set to officially launch the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in the Department of Mathematics in 2025 to meet global demands in mathematics and data science. The program offers two specialized tracks: Industrial Mathematics and Statistics & Data Science.

The Industrial Mathematics track equips students with essential applied mathematical skills for various industries. It covers financial modeling, computational mathematics, and operational research, which are key to risk management, supply chain optimization, and automation in manufacturing. Graduates will be prepared for careers as industrial mathematicians, data analysts, financial modelers, and operational research consultants.

The Statistics & Data Science track focuses on statistical methodologies, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and data visualization. Students will gain hands-on experience in market trend prediction, health data analysis, and AI-powered recommendation systems. Graduates can pursue roles as data scientists, business analysts, AI engineers, and statistical consultants.

The IUP registration is open in three batches: January 14–February 18, 2025 (Intake 1), April 10–May 14, 2025 (Intake 2), and June 17–July 21, 2025 (Intake 3). Various scholarships from external partners are available to support students in this international program.

Admission requirements include an English Proficiency Test (AcEPT), the Gadjah Mada Scholastic Test (GMST), a Math Proficiency Test, and an interview. The registration fee is Rp1,500,000 per intake, while tuition costs Rp25 million per semester.
