UGM Graduation Ceremony Period IV Academic Year 2024/2025: 1,080 Undergraduate Graduates Officially Conferred

Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 — Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again held the Undergraduate & Diploma Graduation Ceremony Period IV Academic Year 2024/2025, which took place at Grha Sabha Pramana, 2nd floor, on Tuesday (26/8). On this occasion, a total of 1,080 undergraduate graduates from seven faculties were officially conferred.

The graduates on the first day came from the Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK), Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Faculty of Geography, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), and Faculty of Biology. From FMIPA UGM, the Department of Mathematics conferred 23 graduates from the Undergraduate Mathematics Program, 26 from the Undergraduate Statistics Program, and 16 from the Undergraduate Actuarial Science Program.

The ceremony was opened by the Rector of UGM, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. In her address, she emphasized that after completing their education, graduates are expected to remain committed to the development of science and technology while upholding the honor of their alma mater. “In carrying out professional duties, always prioritize responsibility for the welfare of the Indonesian people in particular, and humanity in general, in line with the ideals of the Indonesian nation as enshrined in Pancasila,” she conveyed.

Meanwhile, remarks from the Central Board of KAGAMA (Gadjah Mada Alumni Family) were delivered by Ir. R.A Belinda Arunawati Margono, M.Sc., Ph.D., who also serves as the Principal Secretary of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). She noted that graduation day is a historic moment marking the end of a long journey as well as the gateway to a new chapter of life. “The bachelor’s degree you earn today is not only an academic symbol but also a responsibility to bring great hope to parents, society, and the nation. Maintain your enthusiasm for learning, integrity, courage to take on challenges, perseverance, and willingness to collaborate. Welcome to KAGAMA—let us uphold the good name of our alma mater together,” she stated.

In her concluding remarks, the Rector also congratulated the graduates who had officially become part of the extended family of KAGAMA. “Becoming a UGM graduate does not merely mean holding a diploma or successfully obtaining a job, but also being a person of character who contributes positively to society. Continue to improve your expertise and competencies, because education is the gateway to knowledge that helps you identify problems and find the best solutions to address gaps in knowledge and development,” she added.

The ceremony was held solemnly, attended by graduates and their families, as well as members of the UGM academic community.
