(Mathematics Together)

Fostering Academic Collaboration to Support the Vision and Mission of the Department of Mathematics, UGM

Background
Demomatika is a regular program organized by the Department of Mathematics, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), as a strategic initiative to realize the department’s vision and mission. This program aims to strengthen academic synergy, support research productivity, and improve the quality of scientific publications as part of the department’s contribution to advancing knowledge.

Objectives of the Program

  1. Enhancing the Research Ecosystem
    Creating a conducive research environment through active discussions and collaborations among the academic community.
  2. Strengthening Synergy Across Departmental Elements
    Promoting harmonious interactions between faculty members, students, and academic staff to achieve shared goals.
  3. Increasing the Quantity and Quality of Scientific Publications
    Supporting efforts to boost the number and quality of scientific publications within the Department of Mathematics.

Format and Structure of Activities
The program is conducted in the form of scientific discussions featuring one or two speakers on relevant topics, including but not limited to:

  1. Research Findings
    Presentations and discussions of the latest research results, either from the speaker or relevant external studies.
  2. Article Review
    In-depth discussions of selected scientific articles, including the speaker’s own work or other significant literature.
  3. Current Topics in Mathematics
    Discussions on issues or recent developments related to the field of mathematics.

Speakers
This program involves speakers from various academic backgrounds, including:

  • Faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, UGM
  • Graduate students of the Department of Mathematics, UGM
  • External experts appointed by the Department or relevant laboratories

Participants
The participants of this program are faculty members and graduate students of the Department of Mathematics, UGM. The program is also open to the public as per the committee’s policy.

Schedule and Venue

  • Day, Date, and Time: Regularly held every Wednesday in the first week of each month, from 09:30 to 12:30 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
  • Venue: Meeting Room 1, 3rd Floor, Department of Mathematics, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Organizing Committee
The program is managed by an organizing committee consisting of:

  1. Head of the Department of Mathematics
  2. Secretary of the Department of Mathematics
  3. Heads of Graduate Programs
  4. Secretary of the Master’s Program
  5. Heads of Laboratories within the Department of Mathematics
  6. Chairperson of the Graduate Mathematics Student Association (Himpastika)
  7. Representative of the Doctoral Mathematics Program Students

Conclusion
The Demomatika program is expected to serve as a strategic platform to foster productive academic interactions and strengthen the spirit of collaboration within the Department of Mathematics, UGM.
