Yogyakarta, September 25, 2024 – The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a Guest Lecture on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Room 320 of the S2-S3 Building, FMIPA UGM. This event featured an international speaker, Prof. Ahmad Erfanian from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, who delivered an engaging lecture on the topic “Some New Matrices Associated to Algebraic Graph.”
The event, which started at 1:00 PM WIB, was attended by faculty members and both undergraduate and graduate students. This activity is part of the Department of Mathematics FMIPA UGM’s efforts to broaden the academic horizons of its academic community and expand international collaborations in the field of mathematics.
During the presentation session, Prof. Ahmad Erfanian explained concepts related to matrices associated with algebraic graphs. He highlighted the importance of this approach in various applications, including cryptography, network theory, and big data analysis. “The study of algebraic graphs continues to evolve, and new discoveries in this field can pave the way for innovative solutions across various sectors,” said Prof. Erfanian.
In addition to the theoretical and practical content, participants were given the opportunity to interact directly with Prof. Erfanian in a Q&A session. The discussion was interactive, with many questions raised by participants, particularly regarding the practical applications of the matrices presented.
This Guest Lecture is part of a series of academic events regularly organized by the Department of Mathematics FMIPA UGM, with the hope of making a real contribution to the advancement of knowledge and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 in the field of quality education.
