FMIPA UGM Holds Period III Graduation Ceremony, 35 Mathematics Students Earn Bachelor’s Degrees

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held the Period III Graduation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year on Wednesday (28/5). A total of 35 students from the Department of Mathematics officially earned their bachelor’s degrees. The graduates include 15 from the Statistics Study Program, 12 from the Mathematics Study Program, and 8 from the Actuarial Science Study Program. The ceremony took place solemnly at the Herman Johannes Auditorium, 7th Floor, Building D, FMIPA UGM.

The event opened with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Gadjah Mada Hymn, followed by remarks from a graduate representative. The President of the FMIPA Student Executive Board (KM FMIPA UGM), Khairul Ikhsannudin, also delivered a message of appreciation and encouragement.

“Congratulations on officially becoming part of Kagama. Stay enthusiastic, as your next journey is just beginning. Thank you for your active contributions to student life,” he said.

FMIPA UGM Dean, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., in his address, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to prepare for future challenges. He also emphasized the importance of pursuing certifications and further studies.

“UGM is ready to support your self-development through certification programs and its extensive academic network,” he stated.

Adding to the significance of the event was the presence of alumnus Sri Sadono, currently working at Pertamina Hulu Energi. In an Alumni Talk session with the Dean, he shared insights from his professional journey and offered three key tips for job interviews: understanding the job description, honing communication skills, and expanding networks.

“The time before the interview is crucial for understanding the role you are about to take on,” he advised.

The ceremony concluded with a prayer and group photo session. The moment not only marked academic success but also symbolized a new beginning. Armed with knowledge and spirit, the FMIPA UGM graduates—especially from the Department of Mathematics—are prepared to carry the values of their alma mater into every contribution they make to society.
