Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Gadjah Mada held an academic workshop on processing SKPI (Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah) for undergraduate (S1), master’s (S2), and doctoral (S3) programs, as well as a data cleansing session. The event took place at Porta Hotel Yogyakarta from 08:00 to 21:00 WIB and was attended by academic administrators from FMIPA UGM responsible for managing the Student Information System (SIA SIMASTER).
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., emphasized the strategic role of SKPI in enhancing graduates’ employability. “This document provides a more comprehensive overview of students’ skills, experiences, and achievements during their studies at FMIPA UGM. We hope that the SKPI will serve as added value for graduates in securing job opportunities or pursuing further studies,” he stated.
The workshop featured Aziz Hendra Atmaja, M.Kom., from the Directorate of Student Affairs UGM as the main speaker. During the technical guidance session, he explained that SKPI is an official document issued alongside the diploma and academic transcript. It outlines academic performance, competencies, and achievements during a student’s time at UGM.
“UGM has developed a digital system through Simaster to facilitate the SKPI submission process. This helps students verify their data and obtain the document more efficiently. With this system, the SKPI application and issuance process becomes faster and more transparent, enabling graduates to utilize it promptly for recruitment or graduate program applications,” explained Aziz during the coffee break session.
SKPI issuance is based on students’ academic and non-academic records, including internships, research, training, and certifications earned throughout their study period. Therefore, all graduates are encouraged to ensure the completeness of their data before submitting an SKPI request so that all accomplishments are accurately documented.
In the next session, Choliq Chaeroni, S.E., M.Acc., QIA., Head of the FMIPA UGM Administration Office, led data cleansing activities for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Student records showing inactivity for more than four semesters will be proposed to the university for study termination, in accordance with UGM Rector’s Decree No: 2776/UN1.P.I/KPT/HUKOR/2020.
The event, hosted by Isna, concluded with a group photo session followed by dinner.
