International Undergraduate Program (IUP)

The Department of Mathematics, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DM-UGM), offers an International Class Programme designed to provide students with a global perspective in mathematics and related sciences. This program encourages students to engage in diverse international academic activities, fostering an enriched educational experience with an international focus. Participants in the program are expected to immerse themselves in an international academic environment through taking courses at partner universities or by conducting thesis research under the supervision of faculty at these institutions. Additionally, the DM-UGM International Class Programme aims to attract prospective students from both Indonesia and abroad, particularly those who have completed secondary education under non-national curricula. By offering broader educational access, this program provides excellent opportunities for international students, including Indonesian citizens residing abroad, to pursue studies at UGM and become part of an inclusive global academic community.

Requirements and Selection

The DM-UGM International Class Programme is open to students of both Indonesian and foreign citizenship. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic abilities in accordance with the standards established by DM-UGM. Given the international nature of this program, candidates are also required to possess a high level of proficiency in English to ensure they can fully engage and succeed in all academic activities. The DM-UGM International Class Program admits new students through two primary mechanisms: Talented Student Scouting and Selection through Examinations.

Focuses

The Department of Mathematics at Universitas Gadjah Mada (DM-UGM) offers two international classes:

  1. one class in the Mathematics Study Program, with a specialized focus on Industrial Mathematics and

  2. one class in the Statistics Study Program, with a focused interest in Statistics and Data Science.

Learning System Overview

The DM-UGM Undergraduate Program is committed to providing students with an academic experience of international quality. The curriculum is carefully crafted to prepare students for global competition in their respective fields. This policy is designed to offer students a valuable learning experience at world-class institutions and to help them build global networks that will offer significant advantages after graduation. All academic activities in the international class are conducted entirely in English.

Residing abroad is mandatory for both schemes.
