MIDSEA Summer School 2025 Participants Showcase Modeling Projects on Conference Day

The final day of the MIDSEA Summer School 2025 kicked off with Conference Day on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the MICC Building, The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel and Convention Center. This event served as a forum where participants from the four learning tracks presented their group projects, the culmination of five days of intensive work. The four tracks were Modelling 101, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Simulation, and Inference.

A total of 12 groups took part in the presentation sessions, comprising 2 groups from Modelling 101, 4 from AI, 3 from Simulation, and 3 from Inference. All projects were the result of elaborating on material and discussions held during the training sessions, focusing on the development and application of infectious disease modeling—a crucial element in enhancing the resilience of epidemiological systems.

The series of presentations began with groups from Modelling 101, followed by the AI groups. During breaks, participants could also visit an individual poster exhibition, where attendees showcased their researchs on the role of modeling in gaining a deeper understanding of infectious disease dynamics. After the lunch break, the sessions continued with presentations from the Simulation groups and concluded with the Inference groups.

Conference Day was a significant moment, reflecting the dedication, collaboration, and intellectual spirit of the participants in applying theoretical concepts to real-world solutions. This forum also fostered multidisciplinary dialogue to build a collective approach to public health challenges.
