Yogyakarta, May 24, 2024 – AXA Mandiri, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized the Bisik (Bincang Asik) event held at the 7th Floor Auditorium of FMIPA UGM. This event, which took place on Friday, started at 08:30 and ended at 11:30.
The event was opened with a speech by Elisabeth Evaty Dewi, Chief Human Capital Officer of AXA Mandiri. In her address, Elisabeth emphasized the importance of collaboration between the industry and academia in preparing human resources to face future challenges. Following Elisabeth’s speech, the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Nanang Susyanto, S.Si., M.Sc., M.Act.Sc., delivered his remarks, highlighting the importance of seizing opportunities like this to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in big data and business. Nanang also encouraged participants to actively engage and maximize the benefits of the event. Additionally, the Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., advised the participants to always be punctual and disciplined in every activity, emphasizing that these are crucial keys to success in both academic and professional realms.
Elisabeth also revealed that AXA Mandiri is exploring further cooperation with Universitas Gadjah Mada in the form of internships, scholarships, and research programs. Currently, six students of the Mathematics Department of UGM have received scholarships from AXA Mandiri, and sixteen other students have participated in internship programs at the company.
This Bisik event featured Randy Septian Dewa Putra as the main speaker, with the theme “Data at Scale: Exploring Big Data Adventures in Business.” Randy, an expert in big data, provided in-depth insights into the exploration of big data in the business world, which is highly relevant in today’s digital era.
Attended by 253 participants, the event also included a project sharing session, where students who have been involved in scholarship and internship programs shared their experiences and work results. This provided a real picture of the direct benefits of this collaboration for the career development of students.
This activity not only advances education and job opportunities but also supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations (UN). The Bisik event supports the achievement of SDG 4: Quality Education – Through scholarship and internship programs, AXA Mandiri helps improve access to and the quality of higher education for students. With the Bisik event, it is hoped that the synergy between AXA Mandiri and the Department of Mathematics at FMIPA UGM will continue to grow, creating more opportunities for students to hone their skills in the real world and supporting research that benefits the advancement of science and industry. Today’s Bisik event not only serves as a forum for sharing knowledge and experience but also marks the beginning of closer cooperation between the education and industry sectors.
