Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its four representative teams, once again achieved remarkable success at the 2025 Statistika Ria and Festival Sains Data (Satria Data). The final round of the competition was held at the Islamic University of Indonesia, Yogyakarta, on 3–6 November 2025. Satria Data is a national competition organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as an effort to enhance students’ competencies in statistics and data science—fields that are increasingly relevant in the digital era.
Satria Data 2025 was participated in by hundreds of students from universities across Indonesia. Participants competed in four categories: the National Statistics Competition (NSC), Statistics Essay Competition (SEC), Statistics Infographic Competition (SIC), and Big Data Challenge (BDC). In the final round, each category was contested by six teams from different universities, resulting in a total of 6 finalists in NSC and 18 finalists each in SEC, SIC, and BDC who successfully advanced to the final stage.
The UGM contingent, all of whom are students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), succeeded in earning awards in three competition categories. In the NSC category, Kurniawan Chandra Wijaya won First Honorable Mention, while Eka Kunthi Novitasari achieved Second Honorable Mention. In the SEC category, the team consisting of Nasywa Aulia Putri, Hasna Mahira Mufidati, and Septiyana Putri Isnaini won Third Honorable Mention. Meanwhile, in the SIC category, the team consisting of Fabima Fadhlin Minallah Zidta, Natassya Marchelina Cahya Setyaji, and Yohanes De Britto Dewo Prasetyo successfully earned Second Honorable Mention.
These achievements demonstrate the consistency of UGM students in developing strong data analysis skills to support decision-making processes, strategy formulation, and problem-solving across various fields. Through Satria Data, participants not only sharpen their academic abilities but also expand their networks and collaborations with students from universities throughout Indonesia.
The success of the UGM contingent at Satria Data 2025 is expected to inspire other UGM students to continue achieving excellence and contributing to the advancement of statistics and data science disciplines, while strengthening UGM’s role in nurturing outstanding talents in the digital era.
