Indriani Safitri Wins Third Place in the 3 Minute Thesis Competition of the National Algebra Enthusiasts Community

Undergraduate student in Mathematics at Gadjah Mada University, Indriani Safitri, has achieved a notable accomplishment by securing third place in the 3 Minute Thesis competition held by the National Algebra Enthusiasts Community.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, the final round of this competition took place, where only the top five finalists advanced. Indriani Safitri, as one of the talented finalists, showcased her ability in presenting a topic that is both applicable and relevant to real life. Her presentation titled ‘Lattice-based Cryptography Ring-LWE in Diffie Hellman Key Exchange’ highlighted an important area in digital security, particularly regarding security against quantum attacks, which is a hot topic in the world of cryptography today.

Indriani’s skill in summarizing and presenting complex concepts in a short time not only caught the jury’s attention but also impressed the audience. The 3 Minute Thesis competition, which serves as a platform for students to introduce their research to a broad audience, also aims to hone the scientific communication skills of its participants.

This competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students who wish to challenge themselves to present their research ideas in a concise yet engaging format that is easily understandable by the general public. Through this competition, students are given the opportunity to not only develop their academic abilities but also their communication and presentation skills.
