Yogyakarta, (9/12/2023) – HIMPASTIKA, the intra-campus organization at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has successfully organized two major events, namely Math Sport and Mini Tournament 2024. These activities embody HIMPASTIKA’s commitment to developing students’ skills beyond the academic realm.
Math Sport, an initiative providing a platform for collective badminton training, free of charge, has garnered participation from graduate students of Mathematics at FMIPA UGM. This initiative signifies HIMPASTIKA’s tangible support towards enhancing the well-being and physical fitness of students. The regular agenda held from September 3 to November 26, 2023, not only offers opportunities to improve physical fitness but also serves as a tangible manifestation of support for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3. Math Sport is committed to ensuring that students not only possess robust academic skills but also optimal well-being in all aspects of life.
Meanwhile, the Mini Tournament, themed “Unite to be Better and Stronger,” has attracted graduate students of Mathematics at FMIPA UGM. The event took place at the Pogung Multipurpose Building on December 9, 2023, from 10:00 to 17:00. This Mini Tournament was attended by S2 Mathematics FMIPA UGM students, with 4 teams for Men’s Doubles, 4 teams for Women’s Doubles, and 8 teams for Mixed Doubles. The highly competitive matches, each lasting 40 minutes per session, resulted in the following winners:
Men’s Doubles: Kadek Deni Candra – Laurentius Anindito Wisnu
Women’s Doubles: Febby Desy Lia – Nadia Indarwati Setia
Mixed Doubles: Ghiffari Ahnaf – Therechia Soares
Abdul Aziz, as the Chairman of HIMPASTIKA, and Armando Deminto Paa, as the Chairman of the Committee, express appreciation to all participants and committee members who contributed to the success of Math Sport and Mini Tournament 2024. These activities not only hone skills in badminton but also strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among graduate students of Mathematics at FMIPA UGM.
