
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Graduation Ceremony for Postgraduate Students for Period III of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The event took place solemnly at the Herman Johannes Auditorium on Thursday (April 23, 2026), starting at 1:00 PM WIB.
In this period, FMIPA UGM graduated a total of 104 students, consisting of 21 doctoral and 83 master’s graduates. Notable achievements were also recorded, with 29 graduates earning the distinction of cum laude. This includes two doctoral graduates (in Computer Science and Mathematics) and 27 master’s graduates from various study programs, ranging from Physics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Chemistry to Mathematics.
The ceremony began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Gadjah Mada Hymn. In her remarks, Dr. Sri Mulyana, M.Kom., expressed appreciation for the perseverance of the graduates throughout their postgraduate studies.
“The postgraduate journey is not easy. Today, you have proven that you are not only intelligent but also resilient and admirable,” she stated before the graduates.
She also reminded them that the academic degrees they have earned carry a moral responsibility to create a positive impact on society. She encouraged the graduates to remain grounded as their academic stature increases.
“Society awaits your real contributions. We hope that as your academic level rises, you will become more humble, wise, and actively contribute to the greater good,” she added.

In line with this message, the Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., congratulated the graduates while emphasizing that the relationship between alumni and their alma mater does not end after graduation. He affirmed that the faculty remains open to future collaboration.
“We congratulate all graduates. Should you need support or wish to collaborate again in the future, FMIPA UGM will always be open to you,” he said.
As a form of appreciation for outstanding academic achievement, the faculty awarded special certificates to graduates who earned the cum laude distinction. The event concluded with remarks from a graduate representative and a collective prayer.
Through this graduation ceremony, FMIPA UGM reaffirms its commitment to producing excellent human resources who are ready to provide tangible solutions to societal challenges in their respective fields.
