Yogyakarta, September 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM), held the Fundurance MIPA 70 Ride on Saturday (13/9) to commemorate the 70th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) and the 14th Lustrum of FMIPA UGM. This cycling event has been regularly held since 2022, and this year marked its fourth consecutive implementation.
The event began at 05.50 a.m. in the courtyard of FMIPA UGM with an opening speech by the Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si. The route briefing was then delivered by RC Captain Uha Isnaini, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., followed by a prayer led by Mr. Budiarjo for the smooth and safe conduct of the activity.
The Fundurance MIPA 70 Ride featured two route options, covering distances of 19 km and 55 km. Participants of the 55 km route were flagged off first, followed by a briefing and release for the 19 km participants. The participants, consisting of lecturers, committee members, the academic community, and cycling enthusiasts, pedaled along the designated routes with an estimated duration of about 2 hours for the 19 km route and 3 hours for the 55 km route.
After all participants returned to the finish line at FMIPA UGM, the event continued with entertainment, including live music performances, a door prize draw, and a communal meal that added to the warm atmosphere. The program went on until noon and was officially closed by the committee.
Through this activity, FMIPA UGM not only celebrated the 14th Lustrum milestone but also encouraged the academic community to strengthen togetherness, maintain health, and foster closer ties.
