Undergraduate Program in Actuarial Science at FMIPA UGM Undergoes LAMSAMA Accreditation Assessment

The Undergraduate Actuarial Science Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted a site assessment as part of its accreditation process on April 16–17, 2026. The activity took place offline in Meeting Room I, 3rd Floor, Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UGM.

The site assessment is a crucial stage in the accreditation process aimed at verifying and confirming data submitted in the accreditation documents. It also serves as a direct evaluation of the quality of educational implementation within the Actuarial Science Program.

The assessment involved a panel of assessors from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Applied Sciences (LAMSAMA), namely Prof. Dr. Roberd Saragih, M.T., and Prof. Subchan, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. The event was also attended by faculty leaders, the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), the accreditation team, lecturers, educational staff, students, as well as representatives of stakeholders from government, community, private sector, and alumni.

The assessment commenced on Thursday (April 16) with an opening session, introduction of the assessors, and the reading and signing of the site assessment statement. The agenda continued with confirmation sessions on institutional macro-level development policies, governance, management systems, performance achievements, as well as development plans at the faculty level and resource management.

Furthermore, the assessors confirmed the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the Internal Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal/SPMI), which encompasses the cycle of Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement (PPEPP). This process included the review of standard documents, manuals, instruments, periodic reports, and evidence of follow-up actions based on SPMI results. On the first day, the final data of the Study Program Performance Report (Laporan Kinerja Program Studi/LKPS) was also established, along with confirmation of the Self-Evaluation Report (Laporan Evaluasi Diri/LED), including the collection of feedback and satisfaction levels from external stakeholders.

On the second day, Friday (April 17), the assessment focused on confirming the performance, engagement, services, and satisfaction of lecturers, educational staff, and students. The assessors also evaluated student achievements as one of the key indicators of study program quality.

The activity concluded with the presentation of the official report and recommendations of the assessment results. The document was submitted to the university, faculty, and study program leadership for review prior to formal signing. The signing of the report marked the completion of the entire site assessment process.

Through this activity, the Undergraduate Actuarial Science Program at UGM is expected to achieve the best possible accreditation results and to continuously improve the quality of education, research, and community service in a sustainable manner.
