Great Success! Joint Colloquium of UGM and ITB Mathematics Presents Predictive Model Control and Nonminimum Phase Nonlinear Systems

Yogyakarta – On Saturday, November 25, 2023, the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and the Department of Mathematics, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), successfully organized a Joint Colloquium. The event, held both offline and online, provided insights into two highly relevant topics in the world of science and technology: “Distributed Predictive Model Control for Large-Scale Systems” and “Nonminimum Phase Nonlinear Systems.”

The event was attended by students and lecturers from UGM and ITB. The activities commenced at 09:30 AM and proceeded smoothly until 11:30 AM. The event began with an opening address by Dr. Nanang Susyanto, S.Si., M.Sc., the Head of the Department of Mathematics at FMIPA UGM.

The first speaker, Prof. Dr. Salmah, M.Si., from UGM, delivered a presentation on “Distributed Predictive Model Control for Large-Scale Systems.” She discussed the fundamental concepts of predictive model control and its application to large-scale systems. Participants showed great enthusiasm during the Q&A session, allowing for direct interaction with the speaker.

The second speaker, Prof. Dr. Janson Naiborhu, M.Si., from ITB, provided in-depth insights into “Nonminimum Phase Nonlinear Systems.” The material offered a broader understanding of challenges and solutions in dealing with nonlinear systems, especially those of nonminimum phase. Participants actively engaged in discussions, enriching their understanding of the topic.

At the end of the event, Dr. Utriweni Mukhaiyar, S.Si., M.Si., the Head of the Mathematics Graduate Program at ITB, officially closed the colloquium and expressed appreciation to all organizers and participants for their active participation. This activity provided an opportunity for UGM and ITB to interact, exchange ideas, and build collaborative potential for the future. She hoped that similar events would continue to be organized to further enrich knowledge in this field.
